Ultrasound
Ultrasound has become a vital diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine and has helped revolutionize the way a multitude of health issues are approached and addressed, resulting in more accurate diagnoses, earlier disease detection and, consequently, extended quality and longevity of life.
Ultrasound is an imaging procedure that works by using sound waves, which echo off the site on the body being evaluated to produce images, revealing a better understanding of an animal’s health. Ultrasound can detect issues ranging from tumors and masses to ingested foreign bodies, cardiac function, enlarged organs, stones and bladder health, adrenal disease, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, and pregnancy.
Women's Animal Center's onsite Ultrasound services enable our medical team to quickly schedule and perform procedures, and assess the health condition of patients in real time, so that we can work with pet parents to take immediate steps to address issues that could become more critical, or negatively impact survival rates if diagnosis or treatment was delayed.
Women's Animal Center thanks the Bucks County Foundation for their support of this vital service offering, enabling us to assist more owned and homeless pets in our community through advanced diagnostic care.
