Michele Dickey, VMD, Medical Director & Chief Surgeon

Despite an extended detour as an architect, Dr. Dickey has found her true passion helping animals. Her desire to work with animals was always present, however became a life goal while volunteering at a local animal shelter. Dr. Dickey attended the University of Pennsylvania, earning a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Gold Level Certification in Veterinary Business Management. She is dedicated to developing her professional interests in surgery, high quality/high volume spay and neuter, fear free visits, shelter medicine and exotic pets.  On her days off, Dr. Dickey can be found exploring Philadelphia, sailing the Delaware River, crafting, and enjoying the thriving craft beer scene. Her household pets include two tabby cats:  Penny Dreadful (a foster fail) and ‘my-superpower-is-being-cute’ Juno.

Therese Langan, VMD, Staff Veterinarian

Dr. Langan is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys treating client-owned pets as well as those in the shelter still looking for their  "furever" homes. Living with her husband, two energetic sons, and a beloved 14-year-old golden retriever, she understands the deep bonds families share with their pets. Passionate about fostering these connections, she strives to provide compassionate, comprehensive care for her patients. In her free time, she loves being outdoors or working with her husband restoring their 17th century home.

Zelda Blowers, VMD, Staff Veterinarian

Dr. Blowers is a 2024 Graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (Penn Vet) where she was a Rosenthal Research Fellow with the Shelter Medicine Program.  She also participated as a Summer Scholar for the NIH/Boehringer Ingelheim Summer Research Program. During her time at Penn Vet, she volunteered with various community activities including directing the MLK Day of Service Wellness and Vaccine Clinic and outreach with the Shelter Medicine Rotation. Dr. Blower’s interests include both improving access to care for pet owners and addressing the behavioral and medical needs of shelter pets through preventative care, diagnosis, and surgery. In her free time, she enjoys going for runs, Olympic weightlifting, cooking, and exploring local breweries. Waiting for her at home at the end of the day are her pets with very different personalities: Otis (a sleepy pittie mix) and Isa (an energetic pittie mix). Dr. Blowers knows all too well the influential role pets play in the lives of families and she looks forward to helping the many pets and people in our community.
